Learned a ton about the different no-code tools we used. But we learned a ton about what makes a user pay and stay on by identifying what is the one metric that our startups cared about (recruiting the right intern). So when we identified it we just threw all our energy to drive this metric up which was not product related. It was more about creating great relationships with the candidates and help them in their internship search. Doing so increased the chances of these candidates to accept an offer from our startups thus increased retention on the platform (the startups are the paying users).
So, identify the key aha moment for your users and do everything possible to impact this specific metric.

What is it:

Hello Tyro helps Belgian and French startups (soon) build their business faster with the best young talents (interns).

The platform reverse the process of recruitments as it is the companies that 'apply' to the students which is very appreciated by candidates and companies alike.
You can find a quick video demo of the platform here 👉 https://www.loom.com/share/e26b85b6a41540808e4b5ab56e2f50e4

What I learned:

1. Pierre uses a stack popularized by Ben Tossell of Makerpad. I have to say the way Pierre has this executed for the basic stack of tools Webflow, Airtable, Memberstack and Zapier AND all the additional integrations is even more impressive and an improvement of Makerpad. One of the best stacks I have seen because of how he has used a bevy of no-code tools to reduce friction points and create an entire experience. Ill explain more below why that is. But too start off, I have to start my acknowledging the smart product management of this effort. Pierre is laser focused on being good at solving one problem. He is not a mile wide and an inch deep. This is a mistake I see far too often when Makers are building out their product. Great discipline here to be hyper-focused on solving one problem which is hiring interns for your startup. Don't try to boil the ocean and solve everything. Start laser focused like Pierre.

2. Ever heard of "smart filters"? Neither have I, but I like it. Coined by Pierre in his demo, this project has them brought to you by Chris Spags Maker of Jetboost.io. Check out the demo and you can see this feature in action. Chris helps Makers like Pierre make it much easier to dynamically sort and filter information in real time while not sacrificing quality of the user experience. Because Jetboost syncs directly to Webflow and enables filtering of this information.

To set this up Pierre does the following: "The flow creates webflow items from my airtable base with multi-select fields on the webflow platform which in turn, allows me to use jetboost to filter candidates on different attributes (which are multi-select fields for some)."

3. Landbot.io is a tool that is rapidly rising up the charts in capabilities and types of use cases that I have seen. I am really impressed with how Pierre uses them to reduce friction in the experience by enabling the customer to express interest in a client and start scheduling time to interview. But he brilliantly executes this strategy by using Landbot without having to give the candidates email out. This is very important so that Pierre and their team can continue to keep the experience contained within Hello Tyro.

Another option that you can try as well that allows for in app messaging is Userlike. Here is some conversation about a particular use case for a freelancer marketplace enabling 1:1 engagement all within your app experience.

How can you get started with this stack? This is labeled an expert stack. If you are comfortable with these tools your learning curve won't be as great. But just starting out it could lead you down a long path of getting discouraged. If you are just starting out, I'd recommend you start with no-code tools that have less of a learning curve so that you can validate your idea and get feedback before you invest a ton of time into building it out.

To help with this I have created a tool that recommends which no-code tools to use. This will help you decide how to pick the right tools to make your idea. You can try the Get Stackd tool that gives you a free recommendation on the best no-code tools to use. When Pierre tried it out, he replied that the tool nailed the stack that he is using. You can try it here---> sideprojectstack.com/get-stackd-product-hunt-launch. Whats more is Corey Haines provided a great tutorial to make a stack like this. You can check it out on the Webflow wiki: sideprojectstack.com/webflow-review
