Progress tracking inside Glide
I spent 1,000+ hours talking with 150+ No-code Founders, who have generated millions of dollars with their businesses without actually writing code.
How are they doing it?
I spent years researching and building on what they do. I wrote The Lean Side Project so you can build and launch your product.
Internal project management for small companies to keep a track of the progress of a project along with milestones and tasks.
Progress tracking inside Glide
1. Send WhatsApp notifications automatically based on deadlines you set for your project.
Set deadlines for your project or key milestones
There is a feature I thought helpful and perfect for reminders. You can set a deadline with a native calendar feature as well as exact time with a time dial that is easy to interact with. Manan has this currently configured to send a reminder notification of the deadline 24 hours in advance. It is all automated by using a tool called Message Auto Sender. You can see where Manan teaches more about that here:
https://community.glideapps.com/t/whatsapp-notifications/9803?u=manan_mehta
The way it works is "it has a predefined API URL which, when called, sends WhatsApp messages automatically from the business number which is used to login on the tool". Glide has a phone number field that could be used as well not just the number used for login into the app. "The app then captures data on the google sheets where a google scripts processes the data and creates a URL to match the required API" Manan explains this in his help video and tutorial in the link above.
Manan has been incredibly generous to provide the script to use, and all you have to do is copy and paste it.
I would try this out and also reach out to Manan if you need help.
2. Add documents, images or links dynamically to your web app
Glide is a perfect tool to start out using if you have a web app idea and are just getting into no-code. You can see quickly the affects of what you're building by using the preview mode. Through trial and error you can figure out how to configure your app. What I liked about how this app is configured is how Glide does all the difficult work of handling things like document or image upload. In this app example, Manan has each project page with a button to upload a media file. There you can add a Title attribute and then select the media type, Image, Document or Link. Immediately it is added to the project. When you select the media type your computers file drawer will open automatically. It would be interesting in the future if this could connect to Google Drive. But this product example is a great to show how you can add file types to your app.
3. Dynamically add team members to projects. Manan designed this by using a form within Glide to add team members. This can be achieved by selecting a "+" button on the top right of the tool. Then a form drops down to collect the information. Here is where the app collects the phone number of the new team member. This is what Manan is keying off on for sending notifications through WhatsApp. You can also add an image to create a personalized touch. Great job here of adding life to the project. Perfect project management app with key features.
