How to use conditional visibility to show and hide relevant things
I spent 1,000+ hours talking with 150+ No-code Founders, who have generated millions of dollars with their businesses without actually writing code.
How are they doing it?
I spent years researching and building on what they do. I wrote The Lean Side Project so you can build and launch your product.
Reach Out 🌈 is A Platform to Reach Out for Mental Health Support without revealing your identity and never being judged! It allows users to connect with mental health experts and listening ears anonymously.
How to use conditional visibility to show and hide relevant things
1. Mental health matters - There isn't a whole lot of world changing cool no-code tricks about the making of this app. But what I think is so important, especially during the holidays is mental health.
I really appreciate Manan creating this app. Because it is has been an unusually hard, challenging, deadly, sad, demoralizing, depressing, frustrating, enraging year for us all. We have lost loved ones this year or know people who did. And during the holidays, there usually is a spike in depression and sadness. I hope that this app finds you well in knowing there are people you can talk to. I love you all and hope that you have a great holiday season. Hang in there!
2. Chat feature - this is a great feature in Gilde. It allows you to build in custom chat functionality. The chat feature isn't as high end as Discord or Slack, but it really does not need to be. Glide Apps are perfect for validating your initial idea and building a basic functioning web app.
One interesting thing about chat feature that Glide requires is sign up. This reduces the chances of rogue trolls from entering without some type of accountability like email sign up.
3. This app uses conditional visibility. What is that?
Here is a great example provided from the the Glide Forms:
It’s very useful in forms, for example, where you might have to enter more information if you select a particular option.
I used it in a party RSVP app. If you select “Are you coming?”, you get new questions “Are you bringing a +1?”, and “Any dietary restrictions?”.
Here is more on this from this handy glide resource that talks about the conditional visibility. (I'd recommend if you are building with Glide to save this resource).
